I was approached by Gary Friedman and his team from restoration Hardware this year to design a group of lights for them. Gary and the team had eaten at Camino restaurant in Oakland CA and liked the lights I had done for them. I ended up designing 11 lights for RH for the fall catalog.
These production lights are beautifully crafted, well designed and very affordable.

This is a great event to bring your kids to. Learn the basics of steam engines, see some great Machine art, eat food, drink beer and watch the kids imagine what they are going to do when they grow up.
The Railroad Revival Tour with Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, Mumford & Sons, and Old Crow Medicine Show, started its first journey last Thursday with a concert in our corner of West Oakland. The Golden Mean and the crew got a chance to perform and see the show and what a hoot it was!
Great to meet some of the band members and play with the kids. We all throughly enjoyed a relaxing show with a great promotion company, music crew and audience. Great day!
Wish we could have seen more of this band. Their music has been the sound track to the Snail car and the Front Porch for the last 2 years! Next time this tour happens they need to hook up a few flat beds to the train for us to take our toys on!

Maker Faire is about celebrating learning and doing – not the finished and perfect end product. It’s a place to share what we’re learning with others, and celebrate the fun and freedom of being an amateur.
Featuring both established and emerging local “makers,” the East Bay Mini Maker Faire is a family-friendly celebration coming to Oakland on Sunday, October 24, 2010. It will feature rockets and robots, DIY science and technology, urban farming and sustainability, alternative energy, bicycles, unique hand-made crafts, music and local food, and educational workshops and installations.
I happened into the parking lot at my shop to see what I thought was a guy tagging. I was happy to discover an artist covering the junk on the streets with art. By the time I left the shop most of the art was gone. I did get one pc from a broken shelf to hang in my office. Thanks for the art!
